[6] Me as an Entrepreneur

“An entrepreneur is an individual who, rather than working as an employee, founds and runs a small business, assuming all the risks and rewards of the venture. The entrepreneur is commonly seen as an innovator, a source of new ideas, goods, services, and business/or procedures,” said Will Kenton.

Even before, I loved the idea of making products, selling it, and earning money.

I still remember me as a child and helping my father to run our little sari-sari store. Each day, he promised me to give some coins or buy me toys if I’ll help him sell throughout the day.

Those memories might be one of the reasons why I want to be engaged in business soon after; why I chose ABM strand.

A moment ago, I and my friends planned a 3-day vacation out of the town after our Pre-Final exam. Because we don’t have enough money and we still want the plan to live, we decided to be in business.

We made that plan our objective. We find fun in making our graham balls and convincing our classmates to buy.

Yeah, we had profit on that business, but our objective is a fail. My mother didn’t permit me. Goodbye, Batangas. 😦

[5] Accounting Struggles

After encountering 2 of our specialization subjects last semester, we now met our Fundamentals in Accounting, Business, and Management I subject. And to be honest, it is no joke.

As I’ve mentioned that I wanted to be an Accountant in the near future, I am pressured to learn the basics about Accountancy and Business.

Fundamentals of Accountancy, Business, and Management is designed to develop students’ appreciation of accounting as a language of business and an understanding of basic accounting concepts, principles, and procedures that will help them analyze business transactions.

Primarily, this subject introduces Accountancy, Business, and Management to unfamiliar students.

I find it hard and I don’t know why but FABM subject became one of my favorite subjects this time.

Even though it is the first time we’ve encountered this subject, it tells us that, “It is just the start, be prepared for more.”

And by that, I feel challenged again.

[4] Fear of Mathematics

When you ask some young students about what academic subject they fear the most, they’ll probably tell you that it is Mathematics.

According to gradepowerlearning.com, Mathematics is considered to be a very complex subject. The advanced and challenging the Math is, the more it becomes difficult. This is why every time we encounter this subject in school, we find it very hard to deal with.

Mathematics is a basic requirement for you to survive the ABM strand. Aside from the fact that Math can help us in enhancing our problem-solving skills, it could also help us in having better reasoning abilities and analyzation. The abilities mentioned is likely to be considered as a requisite for Accounting.

Another thing based on accountingschoolguide.com, a little knowledge about Math such as the basic principles like Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, and a touch of Algebra is enough in studying Accountancy.

Knowing some of these, we, ABM students have no reason to fear Mathematics at all.

Math is an aid, and it’ll never be a hindrance. We just have to think and look beyond for us to conquer it.

Mathematics is not about numbers, equations, computations or logarithms; it is about understanding.
