On our Principles of Marketing subject, we are taught about how hard marketing is.

As a good marketer, you should make money come into your business.

There are eight functions are essential to the marketing of all goods and they are:

  • Buying
  • Selling
  • Transporting
  • Storing
  • Grading
  • Financing
  • Risk-taking
  • Securing market information.

Without marketer, there are no sales. And without sales, business will lose its essence.

Never belittle a Marketer.

[8] Concepts is Real

In our English for Academic and Professional Purposes, we learned about Concept Paper and how crucial it is.

Concepts and Proposals hold big roles in business. Without those ideas, you are doomed to fail.

Coming up with concepts isn’t that easy. I always thought that I have a creative mind. I used to practice poetries and essays, but now it is clear that Business is a different thing.

Last week, we are invited by our Practical Research I teacher to be an audience of this year’s Research Colloquium.

I witnessed different students of ABM strand in presenting their feasibility studies to the panel. Even though I wasn’t able to talk to the presenters, I know that thinking of a business concept and studying about how will it work or succeed is difficult.

Even if it’s too early, I am starting to think of what business concept we might present for our feasibility study in Grade 12. Honestly, no ideas were popping into my mind.

Pressured and determined, that’s how I feel about thinking of a business concept.

[7] ABTM

I thought this strand only teaches us the Accountancy, Business, and Management.

But through studying, surviving rather, this strand is more likely to be Accountancy, Business, and Time Management.

Studying involves a bunch of tasks and activities right now. My day would not be complete without paperwork and the use of a calculator. Of course, tasks on house is a different thing from school tasks. 16 hours a day (less the remaining 8 hours for sleep and rest) is obviously not enough.

Time Management will surely help for a student like me.

Time Management is a skill that helps students in prioritizing tasks and accurately judging the amount of time needed to finish them. It benefits them in a way of completing activities in a timely fashion, learns to manage, and stick to a schedule.

Luckily, as an ABM student, I am taught about proper management which I am now applying in managing my limited time.

And now, for me, this is how knowledge turns into wisdom.
