[12] Integrity Is The Key

When I became part of our Supreme Student Government as a committee, we were taught how important integrity is in leading people.

And up until now, I never forget on those words, “It all starts with integrity. It all starts with you.”

I always make sure that I give my full honesty in every important thing that I do. If integrity is a must for leading people, I’m sure that it’s the same thing with business.

“Serve people with integrity,” this will be my mission if I’ll be one successful businesswoman.

“Integrity is a personal quality of fairness that we all aspire to — unless you’re a dishonest, immoral scoundrel, of course. Having integrity means doing the right thing in a reliable way.”

Giving full honesty will make you earn trust from your customers.

Earning trust means earning loyalty.

And loyalty simply means better profits.

In business, it’s not only the product or service that you should give.

Honesty is the key.

Money is known to be influential in some aspects of life. Unfortunately, having money is now a must for you to have a good quality of life. Coins and bills can now define you and your state in society.

Money is the medium used by people to buy required goods or services. It is used as the source to fulfill basic needs as well as source of comfort in life. Money is the most important source to live a healthy and prosperous life however cannot be compared by the importance of love and care.

But as an ABM student, the importance of money differs.

Good income of money is an indication of a thriving business.

Without the adequate amount of cash, a business may not be able to make proper transactions needed; and in long term, it may cause bankruptcy.

As per Kalen Smith stated, “Businesses must have cash on hand for various reasons, such as investing in new infrastructure and dealing with unexpected expenses. Moreover, a business’s cash flow is often cited as a key factor in its potential for long-term success. A company may have all the revenue in the world, but without the ability to generate cash, it can easily fail.”

Also, Kalen Smith affirmed 9 Reasons Why Businesses Need Cash

  1. Cash Flow
  2. Capital Expenditure Investments
  3. Company Acquisition
  4. Dividends and Share Repurchases
  5. Survival During Down Economies
  6. Emergency Preparation
  7. Cuts Transaction Costs
  8. Helps Businesses Expand in the Absence of Loans
  9. Pay Bills Faster

In a business, you cannot make a move without cash. However, success still relies on making effective tactics and strategies; money is just an instrument.

[10] Target Point: Goals and Objectives

Every individual has their own goals and objectives in life; and for sure, they’re doing all their best to achieve it.

As an ABM student, you’ll encounter the word goals and objectives most of the time.

Goals are general guidelines which explain what you want to achieve in a particular thing.

Objectives define strategies or implementation steps to attain the identified goals. Unlike goals, objectives are specific, measurable, and have a defined completion date. They are more specific and outline the “who, what, when, where, and how” of reaching the goals.

Setting goals and objectives are sometimes necessary for a student.

If you have a specific task to do, you can set goals and objectives so you can do it more efficiently.

Goals and Objectives also hold a part in a business. You can’t see any business without it, for sure.

Goals and Objectives are essential to a business. Because of it, business organizations are able to foresee their future.

According to Jim Woodruf (2019), businesses that do not identify their long-term goals and do not create working objectives, will grow and develop more slowly than other companies, if they grow at all. Objectives are important to communicate and assign responsibilities of performance to employees.

Goals were also known to be powerful in terms of business. As Arlene Soto stated that it can help the business in focusing on what outcomes they desire.

Also through setting goals and objectives, organizations are able to make their mission and vision.

Setting Goals and Objectives should be practiced as early as possible, for it prepares the learner to be successful in the near future.

“Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success.”
-David Joseph Schwartz
